We do not inherit the EARTH from our parents,
We borrow it from our children

Global Warming

The impacts of global warming are already being felt everywhere. It’s not just an environmental issue. It affects our public health and national security. If we don't start fixing the problem now, the climate crisis will become much worse, impacting people around the world and causing irreversible damage to the environment. We will experience extreme temperatures, rises in sea levels, and storms of unimaginable destructive fury. Recently, alarming events that are consistent with scientific predictions about the effects of climate change have become more and more common. Gift a plant believes we can and must solve this crisis and do so in an equitable and responsible way, but the path ahead is not so easy.

The decisions we make now about how aggressively to combat global warming will impact the future of every species and every person on this planet. Global warming threatens the world with more intense storms, increased flooding and droughts, decreased food production, water scarcity, and higher rates of disease. This is a fact that global warming is occurring, and people are causing it by burning fossil fuels (like coal, oil and natural gas) and cutting down forests.

The Asian region spans polar, temperate, and tropical climates and is home to over 3 billion people. As the climate warms, many mountain glaciers may disappear, permafrost will thaw, and the northern forests are likely to shift further north. Rapid population growth and development will put additional pressures on natural ecosystems and it will lead to a rapid rise in the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere unless steps are taken to curtail emissions.

We need to understand the gravity of the situation. How far can we go..? Nobody knows for sure we can only estimate. We must think beyond our vested interests, our regions, casts, creeds or even Nations. We as citizens of Earth are all in for the same outcome.
